Quick Overview

B James & Son, Ealing Richard Walker's MKIV Carp rod

This is a beautiful 10'2, 2 piece, B James, Ealing "Richard Walker MKIV" split cane carp rod. The rod is olive green silk inter-whipped, has sliding alloy reel fittings, beautiful dark cane, lovely clear agate lined butt and tip rings with cradled intermediates, double built spigot ferrules, trumpet style " cork handle, stepped winding check, red button protector and hook keeper. The MKIV is an iconic taper built by the father of Carp fishing and former Carp record holder Richard Walker. Walker built the MKIV taper after several attempts to design the perfect Carp rod choosing B James to resell the MKIV under his name. This is an early Ealing label MKIV which has been restored to a very high standard yet still very sympathetically trying to honour its integrity wherever possible. Sadly the label is not fully intact but clearly it is still legible with only a few minor blemishes. Overall this is a beautiful rod with a lovely balance in superb restored condition. A fantastic rod ready for the bank or the perfect addition to a B James enthusiasts collection. A classic Carp rod made by the best.
