Quick Overview

B James & Son, London, 'The Kennet Perfection'

This is a fantastic opportunity to own a rare 11' B James, London, Kennet Perfection rod in excellent condition. The rod has a " detachable cork handle, with split cane middle and tip sections, high bell guides, sliding alloy reel fittings, red rubber button protector, burgundy agate butt and tip guides. The labels are almost all perfectly intact with only a very slight blemish to the London label. This rod is rarely found whipped in green, plus it has black reel fittings and a black butt cap synonymous of the rods made for the 1959 boat show, most commonly these rods are found whipped in crimson or burgundy. The restoration has taken many many hours to carefully preserve the whippings. In this manner it's almost all totally original. I do have pre-restoration photo's. The rod has seen only light restoration work re-varnishing the cane and a few rings replaced by Paul Cook to an extremely high standard. The rod is arrow straight and has a steely feel which surpasses most of the Kennet Perfections I have handled in the past. This is a truly superb example of a rare green whipped Kennet Perfection which would grace any collection or be a joy to use on the bank. A beautiful rod which comes in a herringbone bag which I believe to be the original and is in keeping with earlier B James rods.
